Rarely and Seldom

Rarely and seldom have the same meaning (="infrequently" or "not often").

Ex: I've rarely seen a better game. OR I've seldom seen a better game.

Word order: if rarely or seldom goes at the beginning of the sentence, the auxiliary follows it.
Ex:
(1) Rarely have the media been so mistaken about the result of an election.
(2) Seldom have the media been so mistaken about the result of an election.
